1. Who we are
The Planetary Coherence Coalition exists to make this movement visible to itself. We are a coalition of contemplative, scientific, humanitarian and systems-change organizations that independently generate collective coherence, in diverse ways and forms, connected and self-organized around a globally distributed sensor network and shared, freely available scientific, information and participation platforms.
2. What we do
We provide the inputs for the sensor and analysis outputs: as independent coherence-building events, we keep our own practices and calendars; by sharing them through the platform, we alert scientists and researchers stewarding globally distributed and other sensor networks — always on, agnostic to tradition — when and where to look for potential impact of our collective activities. Results return to the communities that created them, and to a growing body of openly documented evidence. When communities choose to synchronize, phase alignment adds amplitude.
3. Why we're doing it now
We are at an inflection point where our willingness to collectively act through our greater capacities matters more than the completeness of any scientific theories validating them. At the same time, as the limitations of materialism become impossible to ignore, paradigm shifts in mainstream science and society become increasingly possible. We are organizing to create a critical mass movement for this moment.

Futurist Buckminster Fuller once famously said that Spaceship Earth came with no instruction book. Planetary Coherence Coalition is an impact hub and networked movement of organizations and groups committed to advancing one paradigm-shifting idea: humanity has agency in shifting the coherence of the shared field, and the effective stewardship of that agency is the most important protocol in any operating manual for Spaceship Earth.

For thousands of years, across every wisdom tradition, the same knowing has returned: we are not separate from each other, Nature, Earth or the Cosmos. We are on a collective journey up the evolutionary spiral to re-member Wholeness. A deep knowing, once available only to mystics and contemplatives, is now available to all of humanity as a possibility within collective consciousness — and within reach.
The Planetary Coherence Coalition exists to move this possibility into inevitability. Attracting organizations and groups already resonant with this truth — whether contemplative/spiritual, scientific or social change organizations — we self-organize around free, collaboratively built and shared scientific, information and participation platforms designed to make our coherence visible to ourselves and in the world. We represent different practices, different events, different languages, different beliefs and different paths. We share at least two things:
- A COMMITMENT to beneficially impacting the field through generating a critical mass of coherence
- A DRIVE TO DISCOVER if collective consciousness can create order in complex systems — sufficient to see a signal through the noise —and to understand if it can be strategically deployed for systemic transformation.

A Published Result
In its March–April 2026 issue, the peer-reviewed journal EXPLORE published a study by GCP 2.0 researchers examining fifteen Coherence Healing meditations held at Dr. Joe Dispenza retreats, with 1,000 to 2,200 participants in the room each time. A tower of 40 random number generators stood in the meditation room. Hundreds more were scattered across the planet. During the meditations, the coherence of the local network and the coherence of the global network moved together — a mean correlation of 0.27 (p<0.01). Outside the meditations, no such correlation was found.
What made this a scientific finding is that someone knew exactly when the coherence was being generated. The meditation schedule gave researchers a place to look in the sensor network data. Without that, a change in the data may have simply appeared as an anomaly.
The GCP 2.0 sensor network never stops recording. Right now it is running, and so are thousands of meditations, prayers, ceremonies and gatherings all over the world — unrecorded, and therefore invisible to the science. The sensors register when randomness gives way to order. What they can not tell us on their own is why.
Interpreting the sensor network data means holding it against many possible influences at once: geomagnetic and solar conditions, world events, the rhythms of the planet itself — and the moments when communities are deliberately generating coherence. This last one is the only input no existing instrument can supply. PCC is creating an observatory to share it all.
In astronomy there is a table called an ephemeris — predicted times and positions that tell observers where to point and when. It doesn't influence the comets or planets, but it makes them observable. That is what PCC is building for collective coherence, in collaboration with the scientists and instruments that can interpret it all.
With your event information, PCC can make our collective coherence interpretable by science. The more information we have, the more opportunity there is for discovery, and the greater the possibility that a relatively diffuse signal resolves into a beacon of light.

We Know Enough to Begin
"We know enough to begin" is one of our guiding principles. Every consequential act of healing in human history began before the full mechanism for it was understood. We can not wait for a complete, accepted scientific explanation before choosing to embody love over fear, connection over separation, coherence over chaos. We already know — in the oldest and most reliable way we know anything, from experience — that these choices matter, and that how we decide to move forward has real consequences for the future of our species and our planet. We do not need to know everything to know enough to take informed, committed action toward our desired outcomes.
And by beginning NOW .. we can help science tell a new story.
Science is one of the most persuasive and pervasive storytellers in the modern world. Yet, there is "new" and rigorous science — providing repeated, statistically significant evidence validating perennial wisdom about humanity's ability to realign with Nature's intelligence — that is slow to permeate the mainstream. The Planetary Coherence Coalition is a new kind of impact network and citizen science movement to help accelerate the propagation of this new science to expand our understanding and transform our lived experience. While we aren't waiting for science to validate our premise, or give us permission to believe in the power of adding the energies of our love, gratitude, and compassion into the shared field, we understand the importance of advancing a more complete scientific paradigm.
If we can validate our premise, we help catalyze the most important shift of our age. If we can't prove it scientifically, we have still spent our time in care rather than fear. This is not a bet that can be lost.

The perennial knowing — that all is one, that our inner condition ripples outward and is reflected in our reality — is being revealed as more than metaphor, and pointing to a new, more holistic physics inclusive of consciousness and liberating human agency.

Whether mass meditations or small social change networks, indigenous circles sustained across generations or new age virtual gatherings, we are the committed, load-bearing system providing the coherence that everything else the coalition does depends on.
PCC's associated sensing technologies and information platforms exist as mirrors for the impact of our collective activity. Especially when we choose to self-organize into synchronized events, we create the opportunity to identify correlations with various field coherence analytics to make our collective impact visible, and to help tell a new story of humanity's potential in co-creating a new shared reality.
Maximum Freedom and Maximum Correlation with the Whole, Simultaneously
Coherence as Operating System: One of the most compelling characteristics of coherence is that within it, the part experiences maximum freedom and maximum correlation with the whole, simultaneously. This characteristic is key to Planetary Coherence Coalition's OS.
Participating asks only that we share the details of our events. While there is the invitation to do more, nothing more is asked. We keep our identities, our missions, our paths, our practices, our languages, our schedules. Contributing coherence to the larger field in our own ways, together we may become an empowered aggregate, helping to energetically realign humanity with Nature's mechanism for self-healing, self-wholing. Over time, strategically deploying collective coherence may become accepted as a powerful strategy for shifting social and planetary systems in need toward sustainable regeneration.

Shared Instruments: Making the Invisible Visible
At the heart of the coalition's observation and visualization strategy are the Global Consciousness Project 2.0 and PCC Field Observatory, in partnership with The Synexis Project.
GCP 2.0 is a globally distributed network of quantum random number generators — devices producing genuinely random series of 0's and 1's. But in the moments when a critical mass of people enter shared, heart-coherent states, these devices are observed to repeatedly move from randomness to increased order — with statistical significance — as if we are collectively able to shift the field. There is still much to learn: a continuation of the original project begun in 1998, the nextgen GCP2 network now numbers more than 1,400 devices, growing toward 4,000. If shared fields shape human consciousness, human consciousness may shape shared fields, for better and for worse — a 2-way communication.
The GCP 2.0 network is always on, always sensing, agnostic to tradition or technique. It does not create the coherence, we do. And at critical mass, GCP 2.0 can help us see it — providing new scientific evidence for a new story of our relationship to reality.
PCC Field Observatory: "Pick a flower on Earth and you move the farthest star."
Physicist Paul Dirac used this phrase to describe the absolute, literal interconnectedness of the universe — and now we are building the means to witness humanity as part of it.
The PCC Field Observatory is an observation network designed to help provide coherence analytics across human and Earth systems simultaneously, using six integrated streams including RNG network data, solar and geomagnetic indices, and global event markers, displayed in near-real time and flowing into a unified analysis layer.
Together, we can help find a clear signal in the noise,
while contributing to raising the baseline coherence of humanity.
Seeing the Field Together:
From Noise to Knowing
The coalition is building an integrated platform that gives us the ability to see the effects of our collective practice, reflected back in social metrics and physical systems, in near-real-time.
The Collective Coherence Layer
GCP 2.0 network coherence during coordinated events — PCC's primary and most tested signal. When communities choose to share using HeartMath's Global Coherence app, heart-rhythm coherence data may be captured during events — scientifically grounding GCP 2.0's global signal in the human heart.
The Earth Layer
HeartMath's Global Coherence Monitoring System of Earth's own magnetic and resonance fields, as well as the Tree Rhythms project, may add to the planetary context. We may find insights not only into humanity's potential to harmonize with Nature's intelligence, but to re-energize living systems with our own coherence.
The Field Layer
The PCC F-O will collect and analyze social and other environmental indicators of collective sensing and wellbeing, and correlate them with sensor data to help make scientific sense of it all.

Capt. Mitchell said this having experienced both. The 6th man to walk on the moon, on the way home he experienced a direct, overwhelming experience of the unity of all things, within an intelligent, loving universe of which he himself was an integral part. He perceived the universal organizing power of coherence as Agape love. Returning to Earth, his search for the science that could demonstrate the truth of his experience became his life's mission, and he founded IONS to do it. That is the posture of this coalition: we act on what we deeply sense as true; we build the community and instrumentation to test it; and we allow what we learn to change us. Intuition and evidence are not opponents. They are two paths to the same sensing.
Possibility Study:
Collective Coherence and Climate Change
Changes in climate may have both cyclical and manmade causes. People are waking up to a disastrous dynamic: "Humans keep creating problems, then using technology to try to escape them." This has contributed to the current metacrisis.
Some climate change experts are asking: "When is attention going to turn to the humans in the loop — not as 'bystanders, but as actors?" That question points to more than the need for radically new behavior; it points to the need for a radically new awareness of human agency.
Planetary Coherence Coalition has the opportunity to contribute leverage, adding a critical mass of collective coherence to this loop — not only when in comes to ameliorating climate change and other natural global challenges, but other existential trials like AI — through investigating the self-organizing power of collective human coherence.

The coalition is anchored by the PCC Heart Trust, the organizational core backing PCC and contributing mission-critical perspectives from the integrated intelligence of heart, mind, and decades of experience.
The Global Consciousness Project 2.0 (HeartMath Institute)
The shared instrument at the coalition's center — a globally distributed network of sensors for witnessing collective coherence. GCP 2.0 is the next-generation successor to the original Global Consciousness Project, hosted at HeartMath Institute within the Global Coherence Initiative, and is a collaboration with IONS and a diverse network of independent researchers.
Founded on Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell's direct perception of the Oneness and of Agape Love as the organizing principle of the Cosmos. IONS anchors the coalition in over fifty years of rigorous, pioneering consciousness research and field creation/development. Our mission is to reveal the true interconnected nature of reality and expanded human potential, to benefit all Life.

Personal Milestones Leading to PCC
1993 HeartMath and IONS
While at UC Berkeley, from 1993 to 2000 I introduced global corporations to HeartMath and the art and science of personal coherence as an essential part of a commitment to corporate social and environmental responsibility. At the same time, I was invited by IONS President Willis Harman to collaborate with IONS through participation in a 5-year inquiry at the Fetzer Institute convened by IONS and Pathways to Peace for a report to the United Nations on the peace-bulding potential of global business in 2000. This experience transformed my belief in humanity's limits for creating meaningful change. In 2008, I wrote the paper "Subtle Realms of Social Synergy" for Barbara Marx Hubbard through Wisdom University (formerly Matthew Fox's University for Creation Spirituality), which became my seminal thesis on coherence and introduced the concept of coherence as "energetic architecture." Of the paper, Barbara wrote: "You have found the missing link in social synergy."
Global Coherence Initiative and ISDE5
In 2007, I cofounded the Global Coherence Initiative with HeartMath Institute — as inspiration, funder of the first magnetometer, and crew installing two more. As a principle organizer of the 5-day International Symposium for Digital Earth (ISDE5), whose sponsors included Google Earth, Microsoft, NASA, NOAA, Buckminster Fuller Institute and Bioneers among many others, the goal was to bridge commercial web-based 3D geo-browsers with community and humanitarian applications. I invited speakers Edgar Mitchell and Rollin McCraty, and created a "Digital Earth, Digital Mind" track to officially recognize collective consciousness as the variable missing from every model of our planetary crisis. This was the flagship project of NextNow Collaboratory —"Making the Invisible Visible: Connective Intelligence for Collective Action"— and the seed for all that came next. Thomas Malone, founding director of the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence, once called NNC and example of "a new kind of collective intelligence."
NEXUS Global Network
In 2012, I brought the science of consciousness and coherence to NEXUS Global, a premier network of next-gen philanthropists, social entrepreneurs, investors activists and change agents, through founding the working group where for 10 years I curated and delivered experiential programs on the inner dimensions of leadership, the psychophysiology of coherence and the evolution of consciousness, and the inextricable link between personal, social and planetary wellbeing and regeneration.
The message: social and environmental activism must evolve with the understanding that non-incremental, sustaining cultural and ecological transformation can only come about if it is accompanied by a corresponding transformation of the human heart and mind. The personal is the planetary.
In 2018 I was part of a delegation to discuss the science of coherence with members of Gross National Happiness Centre, Bhutan .
Investigating Collective Consciousness Symposium
As Board Chair and cofounder of the IONS Innovation Lab, in 2017 I co-convened an Invitational Symposium at IONS to investigate collective consciousness. Roger Nelson and Dean Radin (IONS) from the original Global Consciousness Project (out of the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research Lab) and Rollin McCraty of HeartMath Institute were among those present. At the 2019 IONS International Conference in Santa Clara, CA, I announced the first GCP2 collaborative meditation event; and after creating IONS programming with Roger, Dean and Rollin on coherence and collective consciousness, including introducing the concept of Citizen Science within this application, the Global Consciousness Project 2.0 was launched in 2024, hosted by HMI's Global Coherence Initiative, with a global network of independent collaborators.
Subtle Activism Initiatives
For decades, attempts at co-creating sustainable subtle activism initiatives — including working with futurist Barbara Marx Hubbard and David Nicol's Gaiafield, and most recently co-creating and presenting the Global Coherence Pulse at the beginning of the pandemic — highlighed for me the need for a planetary coalition. As an Evolutionary Leader since 2015, in 2020 I contributed the essay, "Humanity's Change of Heart" to the Evolutionary Leaders' Anthology "Our Moment of Choice" (Beyond Words/Simon & Schuster), highlighting the central role of inner synergy in creating systems synergy, and providing the Call to Action to "join others in creating mass coherent energy on the planet for the benefit of all life."
Planetary Coalition
As Executive Chair of IONS and GCP 2.0 Lead Citizen Scientist, I coauthored the first peer-reviewed paper on GCP2: The Path to Global Coherence: The Role of the Global Coherence Project 2.0 (JAMSR) Research Gate. After identifying and funding a leading social and business analytics company for a 2-year trial to provide GCP 2.0 with social metrics and sentiment analysis to correlate with RNG activity, and it failing to produce the needed results, I identified new partners, notably including the PCC F-O, for more comprehensive and easy to understand metrics and analytics to correlate our coherence inputs with sensor device outputs. In 2025, I delivered "GCP2 and the Noosphere" to Capitol Hill. The end of the final day of a Dr. Joe Dispenza Advanced 7-day retreat in May, 2026 provided me with a spontaneous vision for the PCC, a meta community to move humanity from metacrisis to metacoherence.
